The Faroes
Каждый раз, как я публикую комикс с Гренландией, некоторые люди задают мне вопрос:"А где Фареры?"
Иногда я даже думаю:"Люди, вы живете в Канаде! Откуда вам вообще известно о Фарерских островах?!"
В общем, вот и он. Ещё одна "колония" Дании.
Обычно датчане забывают о существовании Фарер ввиду небольшого размера островов, хотя стоит отметить, что их ненависть к нам проявлена не столь сильно, как у Гренландии. При голосовании по вопросу, касающемуся выходу из состава Дании, жители островов проголосовали "Нет". Фареры часто расстраиваются, что Дания уделяет им не так много внимания.
Когда же датчане вспоминают о таком месте, как Фарерские острова, то обычно это касается вопроса траты островитянами наших денег. И, как всегда, мы получаем кучу жалоб при попытке потребовать выплаты и/или возврата потраченных средств

Its taught in the faroese school system that a long time ago, before iceland became independent, that the king of denmark claimed that the faroese people loved being part of Denmark and was so confident that he help a vote where the majority wanted to be independent. The king said the was a miscount in the vote and discarded any that voted to leave. Later when the second vote was held, a large portion of the population basically said "we don't have a military and don't have the funds to support one similar to modern militaries" and thats a large part of why they voted to stay.

Fun fact! The majority actually voted against staying part of Denmark but the ministry swayed the vote, (im not 100% sure what happened but im from the faroes) and we stayed apart of them anyway :/ and then another vote was held, and barely anyone voted so it looked like the majority said they wanted to stay. Just good ol' biased ministry stuff
