I'm just impressed the Icelandic people came up with such a long process to remove poison.

I like how Norway's face at the end isn't disgusted or surprised, just sad.

Norway: "So this is what Rock Bottom looks like ..."

Funny thing is, that's a very Icelandic attitude. :D "I was going to eat that shark, so I WILL eat that damn shark - pee or no pee!" Pure Icelandic stubbornness. ^_^

One wonders just how many people died as they slowly figured out each step.
"1 month burial - everyone died"
"2 month burial - everyone died"
"3 month burial - everyone died, but it took longer. Let's try 4 months!"
"4 month burial - everyone got really sick but only old Ragnar died. Hm, let's try pissing on it and then hanging it to dry!"

You should see surströmming. It's banned on airlines because a can of it burst en route from Sweden to the U.S. and they made an emergency landing in Canada because it smelled so bad they thought it was a biochemical attack. Usually you have to open it outside and underwater. One time a can leaked all over my cousin's shirt and they had to burn it.

It's funny how at first Sister Iceland is just like "Are you seriously childish enough to eat that?" and then when Iceland offers it to her she's just like "Okay!"

On the topic of strange foods, lutefisk. Putting the fear of cod in you.

As a followup, I'd like to see how Norway came up with the recipe for lutefisk.
Seriously, there are a lot of dishes around the world where you might wonder who first thought of eating THAT.
